President Joe’s Letter…Jan/Feb 2019
Greetings fellow Rotarians and friends,
Hope this finds all energized and looking forward to a New Year full of possibilities and opportunities to Serve Others Above Self.
Please allow me to “Brag” about each of you who have kept me and Leta in your prayers & thoughts. I believe that Prayers are the lifeline to God and its been quite evident in my restoration and healing process the last couple of months. Thank you, Gracias….Danke Schon !!!
Each of you as fellow Rotarians have been so generous to so many as indicative in our Service Projects and Volunteering/Sharing your Time, Treasures, and Talents. May this generosity be seen readily in all that we undertake together as a Family of Rotarians.
Let me share what we, as a People of Action have accomplished in part, since 1 January 2019:
  • Prepared new members for Induction (FOR & Blanco Satellite)
  • Officially elected the following members to serve as our Officers for the Rotary Year 2019-20:  Wayne Huff---President; Addae Kraba---President-Elect; Linda Cook---Secretary; John Wall---Treasurer; John Rogers---Sergeant-at-Arms
  • Several of our Members visited Van Raub Elementary School in Fair Oaks Ranch and were given a superb orientation by our own Member: Jamie Robinson. We also truly enjoyed seeing, our Early Act kids in action
  • Sent 5 youth to our Rotary Youth Leadership Conference
  • Awarded 3 Paul Harris Fellowship pins
  • Participated in the I-10 Rotary Clubs Social in Boerne, under the Sponsorship of Boerne Noon Club
  • Hosted Governor Kathy Hubbard’s visit to Blanco Satellite
  • Celebrated with our own Member: Mayor Garry Manitzas and his State of the City address and luncheon
On Going Actions:
  • Our Club once again has the privilege to support The Rotary Foundation fundraiser, through our District 5840. The Goal for The Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch & its Blanco Satellite is to sell 500 tickets. All proceeds sent to The Rotary Foundation, over a period, are returned to the District for distribution back to the Rotary Clubs in the form of Grants for our Sponsored Service Projects in our local areas and beyond. So, let me encourage each of you to contribute to this once a Year event to make a difference in the lives of others.
  • Supporting the Human Trafficking Initiative
  • Making great progress in preparing for the Inaugural Golf Tournament in Blanco…..1 April 2019….”April Fool’s Day”
  • Under the leadership of Don Van Eynde and others, we are closer to Chartering the Blanco Satellite, in the next few weeks
  • We are a living proof of our Rotary Theme this year: “BE THE INSPIRATION”. That’s why we exist, for we are motivated to think, say and do in ways that do make a difference.
May God’s blessing shine down upon you and your family this New Year.
Joe Garcia
President 2018-19
