Greetings fellow Rotarians and friends,

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite seasons of the year because it reminds us to give thanks and to count our blessings. It is a time to remember and to embrace those who enrich our lives. What a privilege to Serve Others Above Self. Let us continue to give thanks for many new friends who are joining our Family of Rotarians both in Fair Oaks Ranch and in Blanco.

Our very own family member Governor Kathy Hubbard came officially in October to bring glad tidings of joy and thankfulness for all that our Rotary Club continues to excel in. Here’s some of her comments and observations:
  • Our Club’s per Capita is #1 in the District at $809.09
  • We have the Highest Paul Harris members in the District
  • Recognized as having the best “Service Projects” process and management in the District
  • Our Membership drive has been top notch. In fact, we have had one of the highest memberships increases in the District, largely due to our extended Rotarian Family in Blanco
  • Our vision for mission is focused on giving “birth” to a possible Interact (Blanco High) and Early Act (Van Raub Elementary) Clubs
  • We were one of only two District Clubs awarded more than 2 Grants
  • As of 11.21.2018, our Club has registered more than 2422 Volunteer service Hours in Projects and Community Services
  • We are on track and in good shape to accomplish all our Stated Goals and be awarded the coveted Rotary Citation
Following our Holiday Season, our Leadership Team plans to “check the pulse” of our future actions. One major opportunity is for our Club’s support of the District’s Annual Fund Raiser (Raffle Tickets) and contributions to benefit the Rotary International Foundation.

Let me share what we, as a People of Action have accomplished since 1 October 2018:
  • Recipient of the District Governor’s “Hidden Hero Award” for John Rogers
  • Agreed on the decision to commence the Chartering of our Blanco Satellite as a New Rotary Club, effective by 30 June 2019
  • Veterans Day Celebrations at Fair Oaks Ranch and Blanco Rotary sites
  • Participation on the Polio Drive
  • 6 New Members in process and/or Inducted
  • Global Partnership with a Bolivia Rotary Club on a Healthy Woman Program, focusing on Chagas Disease
  • Initiated and approved policies for Rotary Couples and Corporate membership
  • 12 of our Club members attended the recent Rotary District/Divisional Area Training Program in Comfort, Texas
We are a living proof of our Rotary Theme this year: “BE THE INSPIRATION”. That’s why we exist, for we are motivated to think, say and do in ways that do make a difference.

Sending you my warm wishes from home to home and from heart to heart to wish you a very Joyful Thanksgiving!

Blessings….
Joe Garcia
